Lenten Human Concerns Projects
In the past few years, Nativity parishioners have generously donated food to the Brockport Food Shelf during our “40 Cans in 40 Days” project during lent.
The pandemic has halted all donations except monetary ones to the Brockport Food Shelf. We have been donating any food or hygiene products left at the church to the Hamlin food pantry (Life Solutions). They serve people in need who live north of Route 104, from Redman Road to the town line road, so we are actually connecting with our parish. This Lent out “40 Cans in 40 Days” will supply Life Solutions.
After speaking with the organizers there, we have come up with a list of those items most in need at this time::shampoo; tooth brushes and tooth paste; feminine hygiene products—all types and sizes; 2 lb. packages of flour and sugar (not larger); canned vegetables, potatoes, rice noodles, gravy, and juices for kids.
They are grateful for all donations, but they do not need any cereal at this time.
Bins are at all church entrances for collection.
